Now, just so, in order to say something else, I’ll tell you the tale of Little Red Riding Hood.
There was a pretty little girl,
she always went dressed in red, that is why she was called Little Red Riding Hood,
who often went to visit her grandmother.
One day she asked her mother, if she could visit her.
She said: “Yes, now I’ll fill you a basket with things and you take them to her”.
However, in order to arrive at grandmother’s earlier,
she had to go through the middle of the forest,
that were (=was) dark.
As she was walking in the middle of the forest,
the wolf saw her,
the wolf saw her,
(saw) that she was going to visit her grandmother.
What did he do then?
Before she arrived, she, at her grandmother’s,
he arrived first.
When she arrived at grandmother’s,
he gobbled her up.
That one (=the girl), when she (had) arrived,
in front of the house, after a while,
knocked at the door.
She heard the voice inside that said: “Come in!”
When she came in, she said: “Grandma, where are you?” “Look, I’m in bed!”
When she came in, she said: “Grandma, where are you?” “Look, I’m in bed!”
and they spoke, she said to her…
When she looked at her, she saw that her eyes were pretty big.
She said: “Grandma, but why are your eyes so big? (=what big eyes you have!)”
“All the better to look at you!”
Then she looked at her closer, saw the (=her) ears, well they were very, very large!
“And these ears, so big? Why are they so big?
“Well, all the better to listen to you, my girl!”
As they spoke, she even laughed, her grandmother. She showed that she had a big set of teeth.
“Grandma, these (=your) teeth, why are they so big?”
“Springing from the bed, he grabbed her: “All the better to eat you (with)!”
She began to scream, but the wolf gobbled her up anyway.
Now there was a hunter about in the woods, who had heard everything,
all that fuss.
He ran, he ran, he ran there,
and found the wolf in the house.
He grabbed him, killed him and disembowelled him,
and out came the grandmother and Little Red Riding Hood again.
Come entrò, disse: “*Nonna*, dove sei?”
Was machte der da?
